Here it is! My Æon Flux diptych for Saturday’s Gag Me With a Toon 5. I decided to go with just a touch of Egon Schiele, since he’s one of my favorite artists, and one of Peter Chung’s most significant influences.

For those unfamiliar with the Flux canon, this is the eponymous heroine and her lover/nemesis, Trevor Goodchild, who embodied a strangely compelling amalgamation of eroticism and repulsion in the series. Here we see Æon and Trevor indulging in squishy eggs, which were featured in one of the earlier episodes, “Leisure”. I always thought of these as a nod to Bataille’s fetish classic, Story ofthe Eye.
